Defending Against ICE
- Educate people that the United Nations special rapporteur on torture determined that “direct contact electric shock weapons” are “inherently cruel, inhuman or degrading,” and recommended that governments ban them outright (Mandates of the Special Rapporteur).
- Engage in "driving protests" to impede police departments ability to assist ICE. Fill up the blocks around the department with people driving in cars. Create so much traffic that nothing can get out. And the best thing is, there is nothing illegal about driving around the block.
- Know where you are being tracked: Map of Automated License Plate Readers used by ICE.
- Learn self defense (NorCal Resist has free self defense classes on Sundays).
- Protest ICE recruitment events.
- Slow down ICE by being a decoy: add international stickers and/or flags to your vehicles.
- Utilize a "Dead Man's Switch" to check in daily: DeadMan'sSwitch.com, DeadMan'sSwitch.net, or Snug Safety.
